  1. Joshua Reynolds has always been a favorite... and if I were a woman and had lived in Georgian England, I would have DEFINITELY owned Lady Worsley's outfit.

  3. Delighful! But, every time I get in a romantic mood and dream of times past, I think: health care, hygene - no way! Visiting for a few hours might do the trick, though:)?

  4. I love the way Worsley's hat is a virtually identical echo of the tree-top--her torso too for that matter.

  5. Lady Worsley's outfit is so beautiful, and of course we love the shoes.
The Bill Blass quote is so true...I'm going to wear red today!

  6. the paintings just seemed to go together. I too love the riding costume-and one of my favorite costumes to observe in books, movies and museums. I have a very small portrait from late 18th c of a woman in riding habit. The red is glorious here-and my goodness-Peter-the delicacy of the shoe-certainly selected for this special sitting with Reynolds. pgt
