As in Twombly or cousin Cy? I'm glad for the cooler temps, but concerned about the coming winter. I do wish I liked winter. Makes it so difficult. How have you been Gaye?
As a Californian, ensconced again in the mid-Atlantic, I take Autumn to my heart as the season that skips the western littoral altogether, except for the knowing gardener's eye (it is the harbinger of our greening, on the Coast). I find the choice between Autumn and no Autumn unacceptable, even as I find the choice between Pacific and no Pacific unacceptable. Any region or elevation can be cold, and we can arrange that in California; any region can be hot, and we can arrange that in Virginia, almost infamously. But the transitional seasons hoist the heart, and Twombly comes into his own in this one.
