You bare your soul to your readers. The image is wonderful. All the best books I have read about interiors and decoration invite me to inhabit them. I look forward to such a welcoming habitation. Thank you for all your labor.
David, thank you. I hope to get back to my blog in earnest now. I am happy with the Beaton cover, there are so many beautiful images in the book, Can't wait to share.
Allyson, I hope you like the book. It's aimed at my readers of course, and along with that young women, young designers, etc coming up that can find a basis for how they can, and would, and should decorate. pgt
Very exciting and please apprise us of book signing schedules. Amazon tells me I must wait impatiently til April 11th. I was at The Mount recently and recall a Charlotte Moss book lieing about; she seems a well chosen Intro.
Dear Gaye, it's a longtime coming, but the baby is born...you've accomplished not just an amazing blog, but now a book...and published by the esteemed Rizzoli. How I recall their chic stores once upon a time, of music and books so beyond chic, long before the digital age came along and shattered all...but your words and deeds are prophetic, that yes VIrginia, there is HOPE! Of course dahlink, you chose an iconic image we've all drooled over, that of Chinoiserie, Jean Michel Frank, and La Williams aka Countess Bismarck...YSL would've had this book laying on an 18thC console surrounded by THAT wallpaper in the Parisian dining room of Berge's apartment for sure! Please come to California for a lecture and book signing in 2017.
Swan, The cover is certainly au courant-it's got everything going on to be sure. My editor left Rizzoli last summer and I was practically 8 months without a focused editor. I am so lucky in getting the editor I got-since May it has been a whirlwind. Would love to come to Ca!
Oh Gaye, not much I can say, but congratulations and a hearty handshake. It seems like it's been a long time coming, but good things come to those who wait - and I can't wait.
What a divinely inspired choice for the cover! Mona herself doubtlessly would nod approvingly at your selection (as she gazes down upon us from the Timeless Tastemakers wing of heaven). This has gone straight onto my Wish List; I'm not sure if I will have the $55 in April, but whenever I do, I know where it's going, since your book most certainly will be every bit as brilliant as your blog is!
Liliana, That is so lovely. Amazon will drop that price by the time it is published I am pretty sure, and also they guarantee the lower price when it publishes, if it is preordered! PGT
