what they Wore: Man to Man

The point is, in fact,  Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday Life. 
I don't think you could do away with it. 
It would be like doing away with Civilization.

  1. Louis IV would certainly have agreed with Cunningham's statement. Of course, he had reason to be so confident modeling the latest clothes, but you still have to love his "Aren't I the utmost?" smirk.

  3. Funny that then, clothing for portraits was designed to make the subject look rich, now when I paint a portrait, people just want to look thin.

    John- I think so, funny so does Daphne Guinness-I posted on her FIT exhibition yesterday and ribbons of all sorts were everywhere-as does armor-one of her "looks"
