charm

wins big at the Academy Awards. Jennifer Lawrence is the year's best actress Oscar winner for her role in Silver Linings Playbook
& of course Youth wins big too-She's 22.
Jennifer Lawrence can get by with anything -again with the Charm.

She walked the red carpet in Dior Haute Couture by Raf Simons saying:

'I’m freaking starving'

'I felt like Steve Martin in Father of the Bride with all the furniture being moved around my house.'

& the Oscar winner also admitted to cutting off 6 inches of the Dior dress's train-saying 'It would have been too insane.'

her big moment culminated in tripping- as she went up to accept her award.

(truly the dress never looked more beautiful) But it was over in seconds and she was unfazed by it- though still overwhelmed at her win. A lesser woman might not have recovered so quickly-there's no affectation with this one-It's quite refreshing. She's a natural beauty and a long string of diamonds was perfect trailing down her back-Young & unstudied. I imagine every girl at her prom this year will be doing the same.

for taking a risk amidst a sea of pale gowns-albeit beautiful- they were all so much the same-there was nothing to Love-or Loathe.

Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott-heavy on the Klimt influence-and Zoey Saldana in Alexis Mabille Couture-that had just a touch of Charles James to it. Jennifer Garner wore Gucci and though the dress had a modern silhouette-the colour and the back of the dress channeled the Belle Epoque- I thought it was beautiful.

3 smashing looking Couples

Daniel Day-Lewis & Rebecca Miller, Mark Ruffalo & Sunrise Coigney ( in Zero Maria Cornejo), Dustin & Lisa Hoffman all exude confidence & great personal style

  1. I think Naomi Watts looked gorgeous. I wish we got to see more dresses than the ones that were shown. I bet there were some gorgeous ones. Jennifer Lawrence did look like a winner. I thought some of the dresses didn't fit well, i.e. Amanda Seigfried. The top of her dress didn't fit well. Overall, I think everyone played it safe. Would have been fun to see some artsy haute couture. Couldn't really see Barbara Streisand's dress.
