DOG GONE

this month I was asked to write a Reflections piece in Raleigh's WALTER magazine. In writing about the city-the memories I have after living there over 23 years are about A house, A dog and LOVE.

    What a wonderful recounting of the nuances of place and home. I,too, have always been amazed at the on-spot knowledge of others that dogs have. so sad about the tree. thanks for a great story.

    when I was a child I used to hear it said that one was always at home wherever there was an E-i-c-p-l Church; but we never really tested that hypothesis. we had a dog.
