DeleteHi Gaye. Horrifying that today, here in our fabulously rich nation, a representative would envision that paying .10 or .05 cents for lunch or sweeping floors would instill anything beneficial. I thought that the goal was teaching generosity of spirit and enabling children to grow in mind and body with proper nutrition? I must surely be old-fashioned?
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
Mary
Mary, Just can not fathom that kind of ignorance, Yet is is a daily occurrence in today's world. I do acknowledge I am a news junkie and hear much of it-but, just because others do not hear it all doesn't mean it's Not out there. That too is ignorance I can not understand. Denial in many cases. Yes, Old Fashioned today as we are concerned might just be Progressive?pgt
DeleteFor all things Dickens, currently- there is a good novel-Drood by Dan Simmons and an upcoming movie about his affair with Nelly Ternan, The Invisible Woman-Ralph Fiennes as Dickens!
