It is amazing how wonderfully perfect Sargent was able to capture ruffles and movement with those black squiggles in the fluff of pink paint. Great eye Gaye to see the similarity in the McQueen!
Oh how I am still awed at your photographic memory to be able to recall the flounced Flamenco skirt of Sargent edged in black to correspond with Sarah Burton of McQueens ensemble...you must have been one of the smartest gals in the class in Elementary...the ONE everyone turned to for the answer...Teachers Pet! I was...a rather lonely perch to sit upon, though I did get in trouble for talking too much to friends in class. Love the colorway of Sargent and McQueen
Yep! I get it. xoxo Mary
ReplyDeleteLove love love pink...however the McQueen dress would definitely defeat me!!
ReplyDeleteGaye, John Singer Sargent is one of my favorite portrait artists and Mcqueen's creations are glorious in fabric and detail.

How wonderful! Two of my favorite artists' works together. I would love to see a McQueen in 'real life'.
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison!
