  1. Girlie, I was wondering where you were!

I did not venture to HP this year, as I am nursing a pinched nerve.

LOVE the photo reference, and it is a fitting image of how I usually feel when I leave, having been on the set-up side of it, and I'm incredibly curious what it means for you.

Was is dismal, dreadful, boring? Silly design-u-tantes galore? That horrible piano in the fountain on the 8th of the IHFC?

    Please Do Tell......

  2. Thea, oh so drear. I was exhausted to start with. So friday some places open and many places not ready. scary that I kept seeing the same people in the showrooms! in d,g,h,w. went to main to see some outdoor and currey and co lighting. 1 good piece for a powder room. truly same old same old and me the same. sat.sun. h/w district and the highlight was bunny williams showroom small and elegant. some little things of interest at interhall. I have ceased to get it- wondering why with internet presence, clients that will happily purchase without "seeing" that it is relevant -for me. It just isn't anymore.I would never traverse it if it weren't an hour + away etc. And being the somewhat known witch that I am (shock!) I felt much so and HP did me in this year. I should have been so lucky to have a pinched nerve! xoxo, pgt

  4. Witchy-poo,

and I don't believe that for a moment...

Though I am screaming with laughter,
    completely understand.

The Atlanta market buildings are a 15 minute drive from me, and I can honestly say that the only thing that gets me down there, and this has sadly been true for years, is work for a client pre-market.

But, the thing itself bores, bites, stabs, and hurls!

Even HP, I love the pre stuff, collaborating with other stylist, dragging out the dog and pony show, fluffing our stuff..... but the other bits leave me wanting.

Take car of those smouldering slippers, dearie!

  5. Only went to HP Market once when we lived in NC. Lots of self-assured folks trying to convince me what good taste was. Didn't go back. The slippers are nice, but I like the stockings...

  9. PT& Edward, I know loads that love.

    BWS- they are still coming.

Flo- oh how I know, alas I was indoctrinated in college, 30 years ago, & heavens I have skipped it many times, this time, I was hoping to catch a few things for a project, with some success, but more frustration. -pgt

  10. Little a, here is a pick me up for you. Look at the newest Country Living for pics of their 2010 house. You will love the wall paper on page 100 by Farrow and Ball. It reminded me of the bedroom you loved some time ago.

  11. I love your picture -- and I'm such an Oz fan... dark sides and candy glow effects still work. Even if you're not over-the-rainbow with HP, console yourself that you had c-c-courage!

  12. If I only had a brain! Girl you got caught up in a tornado of witch-like proportions. Keep telling yourself: I could be here or antiquing. I could be here or antiquing. Think global: shop along the highways and byways, stay away from hordes of hoarders and go where you heart is made happy.
