  1. I don't want this to go to your head or anything, but by the most recent evidence, you dress -- or have, within living memory -- a lot better than Pauline de Rothschild.

(I have always felt that the Wolf did his duty by Little Red Riding Hood.)

    Merry Christmas!

  5. This reminds me, I MUST go and see the Balenciaga show in town before it closes. In fact, I think I shall go there tomorrow. Thank you! Reggie

  6. She's wearing this as her great '45 vintage just begins to peek out from its folds, although tonight she is probably serving the '26, advancing wonderfully but retaining much to anticipate. Really the balance in the scale of the thing is what one has to admire. The most excellent creations, without being bashful about it, have to be taken as fundamentally normal; one can't do justice to them or truly relish them if they matter too much - or too little. Certainly a dress of this character can shelter excellence in that way, with proportionate context and custom. A glass today of her 1970 bears it out.
