  4. My mom always called me Sarah Bernhardt, due to a propensity for the dramatic. So, let's take that as a shared point. OK?

  6. Love that photograph.

There's no driving on that ice. I have 4WD and still won't even attempt it. Although, I've never been accused of being a thrill seeker either. That may have something to do with my reluctance.

  7. Dear Gaye, I am so sorry. How disappointing for you. I would have been a wreck, with all preparations and then that. Have a double cocktail and know from all of us in blogland, you would have been a smash. Again sorry!

  8. So disappointed you weren't able to make it, I was especially looking forward to meet you! Stupid black ice. It was a very quick trip to the land of sunshine and palm trees but even that was welcome after 6 weeks of frigid temps here in DC! Next time!!

  10. such sadness when i saw this. then i immediately thought: maybe if she had to miss florida, california might be just a smidge closer? come out, dear gaye, and we will find ribbons at bell'occhio that would lift the foulest mood Sarah's lady M might ever find herself in. good shiny black ribbons. or, better yet, honeysuckle. yes. honeysuckle, don't you think?

truth be told, i am glad you are safe and didn't chance the demon ice. ('tho i wish it had never come round...)
