Not sure Shelley-what do you think? She is melancholy, I selected it in all honesty to illustrate the description of Virginia by David Cecil-which I thought fascinating. It seems to be his way of saying she had this Madonna like quality, but very human-curious and on point.
Perhaps that is a painting of a menacing madonna, but then what is the expression on baby Jesus' face?
