  1. She was my all time favorite model. I idolized her in the 60s when I would look in the mirror with my ice blue Yardley lipstick and try and emulate the Shrimpton pout!!

  2. So we must all be of that era!

Q-me too. my mother got all the Vogues-at the time twice monthly-and I poured over them. She told me I looked like the Shrimp. (I did not -though I have worn my hair off and on in the shrimpton mode as in her honor) What a kind motherly gesture to lessen the pain of braces -but I lived on that for years. pgt

  4. I adored Jean Shrimpton, around that same time [as I foggily recall] Verushka also appeared and, to contrast even more, on came Lauren Hutton, but the Shrimp was always my favorite of the era. Looks like we all pouted in the mirror!

  5. I have never seen nor heard of her, because I guess in East Germany we did not hear or see anything meaningful from the outside world!
But, she was (is?) a beauty! Lovely colors! SO NOW!
My life is an endless education! : )

  6. What a fabulous picture of Jean Shrimpton, I have never seen this one before, her hair is amazing in this shot. I am really enjoying your lavender posts, one of our guestrooms is painted in shades of lavender and though I say it myself it works fabulously with the antique dark wood furniture.

Flo, come join the Shrimp (what should we call it) the shrimp cocktails? shrimpers? surely she already has a fan club though?

  9. Dash- the hair the hair! lavender does work beautifully with dark pieces- I had posted some photographs earlier this week Victoria Thorne took at an inn in germany and the dark wood there was perfect against the lavender-and I imagine with some pale yellow and greens, whites adds the perfect touch.

  13. Christina, I love this one and doesn't every woman love JS- apparently she exuded the perfect beauty without the rivalry- that is a beauty.

Ann- we are all in agreement on this one!
