I have a new way to archive encounters with beauty. This is photograph by Vanessa Winship is a exquisite, No? She just won the Henri Carter Bresson
from ll de la p. com.: Awarded every two years on the basis of a project hosted by the Henri Cartier-Breson Foundation with the partnership of the Wendel Group of an indivisible amount of 30,000 €, the HCB prize 2011 was awarded to the English photographer Vanessa Winship for her project “Là-bas: une odysée américaine” (Over there: An American Odyssey)

ReplyDeleteA timely posting to put it mildly. I think the association with Vermeer is very astute; also the reinforcement of the tumblr's presence is a good idea and I would like to see this repeated until it is simply customary to consult both resources at one visit, for context's sake, but also to show how the two media correspond. Terestchenko, I think, was my first exposure to that possibility; and I think it is extremely fertile. Not that I've resolved to open that farm, yet; I'm still essaying the possibilities of this format.
ReplyDeletePossibly a watershed posting. Great exposure for La Lettre, and very LA.
Laurent, I have to say I am enjoying it-especially when photographs speak for themselves. I have a number of things scannned but with the photography that is increasingly on the internet this medium is a great way to archive it and expose it to the young! & be exposed-It is as with the blog world-it is overwhelming out there. pgt
