I would have loved to have known the true colors in the black & white Balmain fashion shot. Because of the gloves, I am tempted to think the darkest value was black, but that is difficult to say, no? __ The Devoted Classicist

John- ah-- So hard to tell in these b&w photographs. I went back to the books hoping there would be an add'l description or a cutting of the actual Abraham fabric , I might say a scarlet?
there is such infinate variety in checks, I particularly like straight and bias mixed checks in suits and dresses
