Books are my weakness, bordering upon a personality disorder- I remember spending $150.00 on a book, standing in line with a big hole in my penny loafers
Truer words than Lovecraft's were never spoken. I have gone to great lengths to assemble a library, and now have done this again in Taiwan (not forgetting to include several by H.P. Lovecraft). No matter how good public libraries and the internet are, you always gather books special to you that are not readily available, and you get used to working with them at your fingertips. --Road to Parnassus
Parnassus-words we can all agree with to be sure!Yes-they are stacked, standing, everywhere including the bookcases here. I have talked with my nephew about the tangibility of ideas in a book vs. the internet-there's something there.
I love books. But I have to say that having such a wealth of information at one's fingertips is a very satisfying benefit of the internet age. __ The Devoted Classicist http://tdclassicist.blogspot.com
