  2. Rigaud's portraits always had an interesting background in addition to his keen detailing of the clothes.

    Donghia often decorated with bright colors, but I am thinking of some more enduring schemes which happen to be neutral. A sign of the times, perhaps. It would have been interesting to see how his interiors work developed, had he not passed too soon.
