not your grandmother's

afghan

Christopher Kane  goes for it.
I think it's brilliant!

see every glorious stitch known to grandmother here

What I am intrigued with- the idea of the printed leather. Why don't you use something on this order for chair seats? Update stodgy chairs with a little riff on embossed leather. No it's not for the faint of heart, but nothing original ever is.
I believe Billy Baldwin said :

"...you've got to take risks.
A person with a real flair is a gambler at heart."

  2. Interesting. Looks like the PVC pieces Ghesquiere did for Balenciaga in this month's W Magazine.

  4. Kathy- yes M. paved the way, had several 2 pc. suits that I loved of theirs and they have gone off with alterations to live with my niece who never wears them together.

  5. LPC- I saw the NG pieces in W too- I just can not warm to them the large argyle pattern is so interesting and detailed with the laser cut patterns but they are so boxy- wonder if they are hot? t Kane's are wearable clothes with this knitting and then repeating that pattern with screens (I guess) keeps it lighter.

  6. Thea, I guess my one liners work! I just think this is very creative and as I have said it is the inspiration I take not the wearing of it- most of those designer clothing days are gone for me & happily so. pgt

  7. Brilliant collection and a great idea for upholstery. It definitely has me thinking about some spaces that need some "umph".

  8. The skirts are okay, but the sweaters are not, and together as an "ensemble" these outfits look like a one-note (and one-time wearing) joke to Reggie. The placement of the squares on the sweaters over the model's breasts strikes him as particularly tasteless, too.

  9. Shani- that is the very idea, think outside the box! pgt

Reggie darling- Glad you like the skirts somewhat! I would not wear these particular tops or skirts-though there are some other pieces in his collection that I might. His look is a little youngish for me. What I do love here is the out of the box thinking, ruler breaker that I am. xx.Gaye
