inspired by CHANEL

.
though many ideas ebb & flow in my design aesthetic-
I'll always have CHANEL.
The style of the original CHANEL-Gabrielle has always greatly attracted Me. I know it is the juxtaposition. The hard edge-and the soft.

So-when I started thinking about personal stationery from William Arthur-I thought CHANEL. See how I did-at the William Arthur blog here.

  5. Great images and I really like your stationery. It is crisp and alluring. I think Chanel would have approved! The gray was a great choice for the smokiness as you said, and also, I think maybe handwriting looks better on colored paper. I always order white paper with a blue and gold monogram but since the ink is so stark against the white, I feel like my writing has to be perfect in order for it to look good. I'm tempted after seeing yours to order pale blue paper next time. Was it hard for you to decide?

  6. J&G- I have never settled on one perfume or paper but I do like as I say the masculine--feminine juxtapositions. I did an ivory paper once-which I think I liked the least of everything I've had. I thought about navy ink at one point on white and that was tempting, but I do not always reach for the ink pen and again you are right I think about the writing-perfection does not describe my penmanship either! I am drawn to greys-so it seemed right. And Yes- I played with this for months and had half dozen saved images in the William Arthur files. I do like it and I'm so glad to get your great feedback. pgt
