Hi, gaye,I'm currently reading "The Lost Carving: A Journey to the Heart of Making," by David Easterly. Easterly was the one chosen to replace a Grinling Gibbons carving that was lost to a 1986 fire at Hampton Court. He spent a year at Hampton Court to duplicate the carving.
Hi Mark-reader and friend BB- just did mention him of to me in a note! great minds-and it applies to the 2 of you and the 2 carvers. Now I know I must Read the book. pgt
I am spell-bound. Of course, I'm familiar with Gibbons--but the lace is beyond anything imaginable. Thank you.Mary
